Vehicle registration renewals by mail!
Beginning with vehicle registration renewals due in November 2009, Jackson owners will be receiving renewal reminders in the mail. To renew your vehicle(s) by mail you will return: 1) the mailer with 2) your two checks (one for the state and one for the town) and 3) a self addressed stamped envelope to the Jackson Town Clerk’s office. When we receive your renewal request, checks and self addressed stamped envelope, we will process the request and your registration(s) will be mailed back to you. With this new service there is no need to stop by the Jackson Town Office to complete your car registration renewal.
You should receive your renewal notice by the middle of the month preceding renewal, and you can register as soon as you receive the notice. We ask that you mail us the renewal mailers no later than the 20th of the renewal month to allow processing and mailing time before your current registration expires. After that date you can still renew in person.
New registrations, title work or anything other than a straight renewal will still need to be done in person in the town office. If you would prefer to renew in person, just bring your renewal notice or your old registration(s) along with two checks during regular office hours Mon 3-7PM, T-W-Th 8:30-12:30.
Please share this information with your neighbors who may not read ENews. We have samples of what the form will look like on display in the Clerk’s office and if you have any questions when you receive the renewal reminder, please give us a call in the Clerk/Tax Collector Office at 383-6248 and we will be happy to walk you through the form.
