Minutes - Trustees of the Jackson Public Library - July 20, 2011- Approved 8-2-11
PRESENT: Allen Brooks, Chairman; Edith Houlihan, Treasurer: Lisa White; Sarah Duffy; Kathy Kopitsky, Alternate; Denise Sachse, Alternate; Joyce Allan, Secretary
Allen called the meeting to order at 5:00. The minutes of the June meeting were approved.
TREASURERS REPORT: Budgeted amount for new book purchases is almost used up. Edith will discuss with Susan whether or not this is usual. Technology supplies are way over budget due to ink for printers This will be discussed more fully at the next meeting. Thanks to Rosemary Good for volunteering to sell stock books on line. $500.00 has been earned from her effort. The Treasurers report was accepted.
NEW BUSINESS: A contract was negotiated by Phil Davies and Allen with Pine State Elevator to inspect our elevator twice a year for $150.00 per inspection.
Allen then proposed election of officers postponed from the last meeting. The current officers - Allen as chairman, Edith as treasurer and Joyce as secretary were nominated and all accepted the nomination. A motion was made by Lisa and seconded by Edith to re-elect those nominated . All three were re-elected unanimously
Edith requested that another board member work with her to learn the format for the budget. Denise Sachse agreed to do this.
A meeting schedule for the rest of the year was discussed.. The first Tuesday of the month was suggested. We will continue this topic at the next meeting. The next meeting was set for Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 8:00 AM at the Library.
At 6:00, Sarah made the motion, seconded by Lisa to move into Executive session to discuss the Directors evaluation. All voted in favor. At 7:06, the Executive session was closed on a motion by Lisa, seconded by Sarah.
The meeting was then adjourned.
